Got questions ? Hope our food list FAQs page helps!

We made this Food List FAQs page in response to the many comments and emails with questions about our food lists. Most of the questions are from the ' No List' - People ask things like ....

"Why can't I eat _ _ _ _ _ _ ?" "Why do you say not to eat _ _ _ _ _?"
" I read on another site that _ _ _ _ is good for you."

We aren't here to argue or debate all the pros and cons about a particular food item. We are well aware that some of the foods on our
'No List' have vitamins and minerals, etc... we don't dispute this at all. However vitamins - minerals - living enzymes, etc. can be found in alternate food sources, such as those found on our 'Yes List' of good healthy food.

What we would like to do, is to tell you what has worked for us and what we have learned through experience works for the majority of people. Positive health results for many, over the span of 50 years. We want to give you the benefit of these years of experience. You may disagree with us, and would prefer to eat some of the things we have on our 'No List' that's okay.

We are here to help, and since we have had great successes over many years, by using the foods on our lists, or not eating as in the case of the 'No List" - we simply give you the 'opportunity' to experience the same health benefits we are enjoying.

The following are the most common food items we receive questions about.

(Apples) - There are some people who have an allergic response when eating certain foods- particularly, fruits and vegetables. Some people can even develop blisters or rashes after eating these foods. Others may just experience a tingling sensation or feel stuffed up or headache symptoms. Different types of foods can cause these adverse reactions - they include ( apples, passion fruit , and pineapples).

The negative reactions usually happen in people who have a sensitivity to various pollens. Such as ragweed, mugwort, birch and grass to name a few. The reason why people react negatively to some particular fruits, etc... is because of the similarity of the allergens in the fruits to other common allergens.

There are many people who are allergic to birch pollen and these people are more likely to experience allergy symptoms of varying degrees when eating certain fruits, such as apples.

(Chocolate) - People with Fibrocystic disease and Fibromyalgia need to avoid chocolate - caffiene and heavy fat laden foods. These foods can multiply and intensify the pain and inflammation. The common symtoms of intolerance to chocolate are an upset stomach, headache, diarreha, general fatigue and a flare up of inflammation.

Cow's milk is on our No List(Cow's Milk) - and milk products. Cow's milk - contains many protein fractions that can cause problems and allergic reactions. The two main culprits are casein and whey. Some people can be very sensitive to the milk proteins and they can produce IgE antibodies to these proteins. Some people develop milk protein intolerance which happens when their bodies mount a non-IgE immune response to the milk protein.

Common symtoms of cow's milk allergy or intolerance:

  • Chronic runny nose
  • Chronic Phlegm
  • Cough
  • ear infections
  • Irritability
  • Fluid behind ears
  • Nasal stuffiness
  • Recurring Colds
  • Sinusitis
  • Abdominal Pain,etc.

( Soy )- Soy is in countless products - including infant formula and "health" foods - Protein bars . . . in fact, if you will stop and read the labels, you will be shocked to see how many things include "Soy" in their list of ingredients.

TV Commercials and a massive marketing campaign have led us to believe that it's a miracle food. But non - fermented soy - in all it's forms, is something that we recommend you avoid. Some of the more popular forms of Soy are Soy Milk - Soy Protein Isolate and Tofu.

Most Soy is GMO . Soy is loaded with 'Trypsin Inhibitors' which inhibits the action of your digestive system. Soy also has 'Goitrogen' which impairs Thyroid function. Soy contains 'Phytic Acid' which impairs Mineral absorption. Soy also contains 'Phyto Estrogens' which can accumulate in your system - ( Men - Women and Children). An over-abundance of this can lead to other health problems and have negative side-effects.

Fermented Soy - is fine and has many healthy benefits. Fermented Soy includes:

  • Tempeh
  • Miso
  • Natto

(Strawberries) - are one food that commonly spark an allergic reaction.

(Strawberries) are in a small group of foods that contain easily measureable amounts of (Oxalates). These substances occur naturally in animals - and plants. But if the Oxalates become too concentrated in your body fluids, they can become crystallized and then begin to cause problems.

(Strawberries) also contain (Goitrogens) - another naturally occurring substance that can interfere with the proper functioning of the thyroid gland.

(Tomato) - allergies and adverse inflammatory reactions are also very common. Tomatoes are in the nightshade family and if you are allergic to them , you may also have a negative response when eating the other foods in the nightshade family, such as white skinned potatoes - green peppers and eggplant.

You do not have to eat these foods in their pure isolated forms for them to cause problems for you. Many products use cow's milk as an ingredient, for example, and these things can still cause problems for you.

Be Aware of Food Intolerances

Keep in mind that although you may not have an intense allergic response to certain foods, you may have an intolerance to any varying degree with many foods that commonly spark an allergic response.

Food intolerance can manifest itself a few hours or even a few days later. Food intolerance symptoms are often more widespread and cause different types of symptoms than an allergic response. The negative reactions can run the gamut from aches and pains to digestive problems, depression, headaches, fatigue etc.
